9/8/2023 0 Comments X rebirth vs elite dangerousMaybe go play Pandora first contact if your not liking XR or Starpoint Gemini 2. The only thing that does stack up close as an old day game to X titles is Distant World Universe, though it is not 3D like XR, more of a top down 2D RTS empire building game.Īnd agree, why is everyone trying to get a "living universe" empire building game to covert into something there are so many similar games out there already for. Maybe we can start comparing super mario bros to sonic the hedgehog next. This is all you guys are doing by trying to compare the two. It is like comparing soccer to water polo ()īoth use a ball, one is played on a field using ones feet mainly, the other in water using ones hands mainly. I do also use sometimes voiceattack in x3 and in XR and it works great.īeing a heavy financial backer of both Elite Dangerous (Kickstarter +1k USD) and Star Citizen (BattlePack $ 1,150 USD + 3 other packs added to that, close to 2k USD) I can say both ED and SC are both a different kettle of fish to XR. (maybe Limit theory when it comes out.)īut like I started, I think you cannot compare these games. I like ED, and it looks stunning, but I also keep playing X games, because they are so different and there are no games out there like it. And then XR is offering more, because you can do much more things in XR (if you like them or not, that isn't the case here) XR is a total empire/fighting/building/trade game, were ED is a space shooter/trading/explorer game.ĮD: yes XR: not really, but you can still fly with them. But ok, I have ED also, and like it a lot.īut if you compare, a Yugo to XR, and a Luxury car to ED then I must turn that around, because comparing is not about how nice a game looks, or how many bugs it still has, but it's about what the games offering. Originally posted by Kindanoob:It's like comparing a Yugo (xrebirth) to a luxary car (elite dangerous)įirst I think you cannot compare those 2 games. I cant tell you how tempted i am to click that download button for £50.00 and not wait till its released officially for 35.00 ( preorder ). It just seems that xrebirth will never have this level of immersion or compatibility. These points along with the fact that you can play singleplayer AND online is just a dream come true and its compatible with the oculus rift - AND has SLI and CROSSFIRE support. In Elite you can litterally free roam around a MASSIVE galaxy freely and visit hundreds of systems- ok they are not all populated with interesting things (YET ) but you have the freedom to check it out - this to me is real free mode. Įlite dangerous warping to different systems is just spectacular - Xrebirth Highways are not anything as interesting in my opinion, it just doesnt feel liek you have much freedom ,įor example - STALKER vs DAYZ - you are limited by portals in STALKER so each area is preloaded and like a box - DAYZ is totally freeroaming, its a more immersive experience. Xrebirths skunk in comparison is hardly what you would say customisable- and the animation walking on and off the skunk and the experience of walking around on the station isnt something to rave about yet - and this might not be any better for a long time. and you then go down into a mechanics bay and see your ship up close - and there are soo many upgrades to choose from already with more to come. You land your ship on a landing pad with a hologram showing your ship in relation to the touch down pad. No question about it - sometimes there is just too much going on on screen - Youtube videos of the new beta of elite dangerous seems to feel more like empty space - allowing for higher frame rates - smoother gameplay and better ship handling. Im toying with the idea of getting it but feel a bit gutted that Xrebirth may just not ever get played again - I remember a previous post that claimed that xrebirth had more to offer than elite but when i take these points into account - theres really no contest. Ive gotten a bit bored of xrebirth of late - and im interested in Elite dangerous now that its price tag has been reduced to £50.00 = ( $79.85 ).
